Winter Cycling Overshoes: UK Prices Compared
We found 162 winter cycling overshoes and toe covers at 16 UK shops, from £8.99 up. The median price is £40. Below, each one is ranked by its cheapest price in your size, grouped by type, and checked for stock, because by December the size you need is often the one that has sold out.
If you already know your size, use the finder in the first section. If you are still deciding between neoprene, windproof and toe covers, start with which type to buy.
The cheapest winter overshoes in your size
Pick a size to see every overshoe a UK shop can sell you in it, cheapest first. Overshoe sizes follow shoe sizes, and each brand splits them differently, so check the brand’s range on the product page before you buy. The list only covers overshoes sold in S to XXL. A few are sold only in shoe sizes (for example “38–40”), and you can find those on the accessories listing.

Neoprene, windproof or toe covers: which to buy
An overshoe has two jobs: stop wind chill at the front of your foot, and keep road spray out. Different types trade those off differently, and the prices below show that the most protective types don’t always cost the most.
| Type | Products | From | Median | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toe covers | 21 | £10 | £21 | Cool mornings, roughly 5–12°C, dry roads |
| Rain and waterproof | 35 | £20.95 | £40.99 | Persistent rain, any temperature above freezing |
| Deep winter and thermal | 23 | £9.95 | £52 | Below about 5°C, and the coldest wet days |
| Neoprene | 12 | £9.95 | £40 | Cold and dry to damp, about 0–8°C |
| Windproof and softshell | 6 | £8.99 | £20.49 | Dry cold, about 4–10°C |
| Other overshoes | 65 | £14.99 | £44.99 | Check the listing |
Toe covers (21 priced)
Toe covers only cover the front of the shoe, where the vents and the wind are. They cost the least, pack into a jersey pocket, and cover the most common UK winter morning: cold at the start, mild by lunch.
I used to be a huge advocate of overshoes when the temperature drops, but I haven't regularly worn any for a year, instead using toe covers in all but the coldest conditions.
Neoprene (12 priced)
Neoprene is the traditional choice: warm, windproof and cheap. Its weakness is long spells of rain.
In cold, dry weather a traditional neoprene overshoe will work as an excellent insulator, but will get waterlogged in persistent, heavy rain.
Overshoes tend to be made from anything from 2mm to 4mm thick neoprene, which is both waterproof and windproof, but much less breathable than alternatives due to the thickness of the material.
Windproof and softshell (6 priced)
Thinner fabrics breathe better, so your feet don’t sweat on long climbs or at a hard pace. They suit dry, cold days better than wet ones.
Rain and deep-winter covers (58 priced)
These are the ones for long rides in the rain. Spatz are the benchmark here, and they charge for it.
if you ride in wet and cold conditions typical of UK winters, Spatz take warmth and comfort to new levels.
No overshoe keeps a foot dry for ever. Water gets in at the cleat and the ankle cuff, so the aim is feet that stay warm when damp, not feet that stay dry.
even if the overshoe itself doesn't leak, water will eventually find its way in through the openings - top or bottom (or both).
Our take: what to wear at each temperature
Testers put the upper limit for full overshoes at about the same point:
During testing, we found them to work well up to around 10 degrees Celsius and remain comfortable.
The rest of your kit matters just as much. Warm feet don’t help much if your knees are bare, so see our women’s winter tights guide, or browse all bib tights.

How we got these numbers
We read each shop’s own product listings, size by size, and this page was rebuilt from that read on 17 September 2026. A price counts only if it is in pounds and the shop has not marked that size sold out. Where a shop publishes no stock at all, we show its price but leave it out of every in-stock percentage rather than guess. We never convert a euro or dollar price: import VAT and duty make those numbers wrong in your favour on paper and against you at the door.
No brand or shop pays for a place on this page: the order is price, and nothing else. Prices move daily; the product page always shows the time of the last read. More in how Spoke Signal works.
